Cecilia Polacow Herzog is president of the Inverde Institute for Research on Green Infrastructure and Urban Ecology. She is an urban landscape designer, a Specialist in Environmental Preservation of Cities, Master in Urbanism and professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Her main focus of research is how cities can become sustainable and resilient, learning from nature. Cecilia is the author of "Cities for All: (re) learning to live with NATURE." Writes for the blog Nature of Cities (www.thenatureofcities.com / author / ceciliaherzog) a >, which involves international personalities in the field, and is a member of the editorial board of the journal LabVerde, publishing landscape laboratory of the University of São Paulo (USP). Cecilia is diretor of OSCIP "Friends of the Tijuca National Park" and a member of the following organizations: Sure (Society of Urban Ecology); IALE-BR (International Association of Landscape Ecology - Brazil); Urbio (Urban Biodiversity and Design); Friends of the Park (Association of Friends of the Tijuca National Park); UCCRN (Urban Climate Change Research Network), and Abap (Brazilian Association of Landscape Architects).
